Diplomas in Ministry

St. Francis Seminary offers two programs for those who wish to prepare for holy orders.  These courses are offered to those who have not attended theological studies or received an M.Div or similar degree.

These diploma programs are designed to train candidates for service as deacons and priests in the Community Catholic Church.  If you already have an MDiv or degree in religious studies, and are seeking ordination, there is separate training stream.

Programs for 2015 begin in May and will involve online Skype calls, Spiritual Direction calls and onsite sessions (in Niagara-on-the-Lake).  Diaconal Ordination will take place in November. Ordination to the Priesthood will take place in September 2016.

1. Diploma in Pastoral Ministry
Six-month process leading to ordination to the Permanent or Vocational Diaconate.

2. Diploma in Sacramental Ministry
Fourteen-month process leading to ordination to the Diaconate then Priesthood.

Training for Incardinating Priests

We welcome clergy from other denominations who are looking for a faith community that offers a sacramental, affirming and welcoming perspective, grounded in Christ's teachings and ministry.  There is an application process, interview and upon acceptance, a training session about the principles and praxis of ministry in the Community Catholic Church of Canada.  For more information, please contact Archbishop Deborah Vaughan.
